My maternal Grandmother, Susie Ethel Johnson lived to be 96 years old. She was such an influence over my life growing up. I spent many days with her and my Grandfather, Benjamin Franklin Johnson, outside in their garden, gathering or planting vegetables depending on the season. When I think of my childhood, I think of helping them with their garden, climbing apples trees and the “ring” of my Grandmother’s banjo as she played Cripple Creek!
